 Needle Felt Liquid Filter Bag

Our needle-punched fabric filter bags are designed for reliable industrial liquid filtration where chemical compatibility, low fiber migration and consistent filtration performance are important. A range of filter media is available to match different liquid compositions and operating temperatures, including polypropylene, polyester, extended-life polypropylene and polyester, NOMEX and PTFE.

The filter bags use a gradient-density fiber structure and a glazed finish to help reduce fiber migration during filtration. Food-grade compliance is available for suitable food and beverage applications. Silicone-free needle felt is also available. Fully welded construction helps reduce the possibility of liquid bypass, while ring-style filter bags provide a practical and economical option for general-purpose filtration.

For applications requiring longer service life, the POXL and PEXL extended-life filter bags use a special needle-felt fiber construction that increases internal pore space and dirt-holding capacity. According to the data sheet, their service life can be up to four times that of conventional configurations under comparable operating conditions, potentially reducing replacement frequency and operating cost. Actual service life depends on the liquid, contaminant load, flow rate, operating pressure and selected micron rating.

Available Materials and Operating Temperatures

Material Description Maximum working temperature*
PP / PO Polypropylene <80°C
PE Polyester <120°C
POXL Polypropylene Extended Life <80°C
PEXL Polyester Extended Life <120°C
NOMEX NOMEX filter media <200°C
PTFE PTFE filter media <260°C

*Temperature limits are based on the supplied data sheet. Final selection should also consider chemical compatibility, pressure, flow rate and the specific liquid being filtered.

Nominal Micron Ratings

Available nominal ratings: 0.2, 0.5, 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300 μm.

The data sheet states that filtration efficiency is approximately 50%–95%, depending on the selected micron rating and operating conditions.
